The Role:
The role of Technical Delivery Manager is to work as a hands-on project and managed services delivery manager within our Delivery team. You will be responsible for the management of the full life-cycle of client projects, and the on-going delivery of managed services for retained clients.
This includes the planning and monitoring of all incidents, change requests and small projects; to coordinate the gathering of requirements, plan and deliver to agreed budgets and with appropriate methodologies, to successful completion.
It includes the Day-to-day support and co-ordination with a Project Director of resources within a client DevOps team to ensure the delivery of the client requirements managing SLAs and backlogs in line with the overall programme needs - taking ownership of queue management, routing and progression of tickets.
The role will require resource coordination and prioritisation with the Operations managers and the Project or Programme Director to ensure that appropriate efficiencies are maintained across the client’s DevOps team. They will need to liaise with Clients, Internal users and support personnel to ensure incident, change/project requests are dealt with in a timely manner which may be out of standard office hours.
The responsibilities of the role:
  • Execute projects, leading the scoping and planning of these: owning statements of work, project plans, estimations, tracking and updating documentation on oue JIRA/Confluence toolset through the project life-cycle
  • Trafficking and coordinating in every day client support requests and managing against Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) by liaising with support and DevOps personnel by booking the necessary resource. This requires a degree of ‘fire fighting’ and initiative to deal with against SLA’s and client expectations 2
  • Responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered to time and budget and requests or incident meet SLAs
  • Work with account and discipline leads to develop project scope, timing and pricing based on business, user and functional requirements.
  • Lead the day to day management of project teams including kick-offs and internal resourcing
  • Define responsibilities and allocation of tasks with the project team
  • Identify, manage and monitor project/Service risks, issues and assumptions
  • Own client communication through the course of the project and managed service delivery
  • Weekly status reporting to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Track the project/Service actual time and expenses incurred and have an accurate understanding of revenue forecast across all your projects
  • Responsible for managing clear client feedback, team comm’s and implementation
  • Responsible for Client sign-off on key project deliverables
Key Skills.
Technology skills:
  • Strong JIRA and Confluence skills
  • Familiar with a variety of CMS/CEP products (e.g. Sitecore, EPiserver, etc.)
  • Familiar with delivery toolsets eg continuous source control and deployment
  • Robust knowledge of associated technology processes – specifically QA and test approaches to run high quality test phases
Core Skills:
  • Strong Agile practise skills - ability to run an Agile team, Inc. daily stand-ups, retrospectives, estimating process etc (SCRUM Certified) 3
  • A good knowledge of typical build project risks and ability to manage RAID logs effectively and proactively
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to deal clearly and professionally with clients and technical resources
  • Excellent numeric skills, ability to work with accounting systems and commercial reporting
  • Management of creative and development teams of up to 10+ people and with an aptitude for dynamic inter-team resourcing and prioritisation i.e. removing blockers for maximum velocity
  • Good project planning with the development of resource & delivery plans
  • Project tracking, reporting and good documentation skills
  • Ability to build strong and trusting relationships both with internal and external parties
  • Skilled in supporting the team in gathering project requirements
  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Skilled at Interfacing with developers with an understanding of build technologies
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience in similar delivery environments
  • Experience in an Agency environment
  • Familiar with software design and development methodologies
  • Familiar with ITIL
