The Role
As a Learning & Development Consultant focused on Financial Services, you will drive the design and delivery of impactful L&D programmes tailored to the needs of advisory teams. Your work will span training needs analysis, curriculum development, content creation (including e‑learning, workshops, toolkits), and performance measurement. You’ll partner with senior stakeholders to align learning strategies with business goals, ensuring advisers are supported at every stage of their development journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive learning needs assessments to identify gaps and training priorities across adviser cohorts
- Design and develop blended learning programmes (instructor‑led, virtual, e‑learning, microlearning) tailored for financial professionals
- Collaborate with subject-matter experts to produce high-quality materials—participant guides, job aids, conversational scripts, and e-modules
- Deliver engaging workshops, seminars, onboarding and refresher courses, both virtually and in person
- Facilitate coaching, role-play sessions, and on-the-job shadowing to reinforce learning transfer
- Ensure programmes align with compliance, regulatory, and client experience standards (e.g., FCA requirements
- Establish and monitor KPIs to assess training effectiveness, learner progress, and behavioural change
- Maintain relationships with stakeholders—advisers, compliance, operations, HR—to ensure training relevance and uptake
- Stay updated on L&D best practices, adult learning principles, and industry trends to innovate programme design
Experience & Skills Required
- 3–5 years’ experience in Learning & Development, ideally within financial services or professional services
- Strong background in instructional design, adult learning theory, and blended learning methodologies
- Proven track record in developing and delivering training programmes for regulated financial environments
- Exceptional facilitation and presentation skills, with confidence engaging senior-level stakeholders
- Experience creating e-learning, virtual classrooms, job aids, coaching toolkits, and conversational frameworks
- Proficiency in LMS platforms and common learning tools (video, microlearning, analytics)
- Solid analytical skills—competent at evaluating training impact and presenting actionable insights [careers.acbsp.org], [eidesign.net]
- Skilled in stakeholder collaboration, project management, and adapting to fast-paced environments
- Degree qualified; relevant L&D certifications (e.g., CIPD, ATD, CPTM) advantageous
