The Role:
 
As a Senior Content Lead, you are critical to the development of market leading creative strategy and work. Working to create a close, efficient and effective team with other content leads, you will jointly agree responsibilities and play the leading creative and client facing role on all live projects that you own. You are jointly responsible for the management or mentorship of junior creative talent in your team. You are integral to driving excellent standards of creative work on all projects that you own, within the brand(s) you manage.
 
Key Areas of Responsibility – Account Specific:
 
  • Develop strong and effective creative leadership as one of a team of AKZO content leads, working closely and efficiently together.
  • Interpret briefs and deliver strategy and content for both the B2C and B2B sides of the business as required, helping to meet the commercial needs of the brands (UK and Global).
  • Develop and progress creative concepts, from proposed idea and territory to agreed assets and deliverables (narrative; copy; visuals; storyboards; scripts, etc.).
  • Demonstrate a passion for the world of interiors, alongside an interest in colour and design trends.
  • Attend meetings at AkzoNobel HQ in Amsterdam and Slough when required.
 
Key Areas of Responsibility – General:
 
  • Write and edit copy across print and digital channels.
  • With the PM, manage the client relationships on all live projects to meet client briefs against the agreed schedule/budget.
  • Demonstrate expertise in the client’s business and sector, along with a strong understanding of their competitive landscape.
  • Demonstrate expertise and advocacy in the agency’s business and sector, including our agency credentials and products.
  • Proactively manage direct reports through a bi-annual appraisal process and foster a feedback culture, identifying training needs and opportunities for creative development.
  • Proactively share knowledge and experience across the agency through coaching, mentoring and training
  • Demonstrate strong and active leadership, particularly in pressured deadline situations.
  • Collaborate and communicate closely with other team members -  account managers, producers, designers and video editors - to deliver outstanding content solutions.
  • Act as the editorial lead on shoots and post-production work.
  • Organise and lead client meetings where and when required.
  • Present and nurture creative concepts in client facing environments.
 
Experience and skills:
 
  • Several years’ experience in a client facing role
  • Experience of leading and developing creative teams
  • Credible specialist experience and knowledge within relevant industry sectors
  • Extensive knowledge of direct and/or digital channels as well as strong understanding of other relevant marketing disciplines (e.g. advertising, media, social)
    • Digitally literate (preferably experience of Outlook, Word, Excel, Keynote)
    • Excellent creative leadership skills–creative judgement, strategic thinking, industry knowledge, talent management and business growth
    • Excellent ideas and creative delivery skills – across all channels and formats
    • Excellent communication skills – highlyarticulate in person and in writing, confident in creating presentations that tell a compelling story and show the strategy/work to best effect, confident in leading the agency response in all live RTBs, ability to own relationships with business-critical clients, ability to handle highly effectively with conflict and negotiations
