The Organisation:
We are currently working with a leading European IT services organisation with 5,000 staff. Headquartered in London, they have offices in globally. Supporting the full software lifecycle, they design and build digital solutions for their clients in a variety of industry verticals. They speak their customers’ language and their delivery is world class. Their solutions transform systems, platforms and processes for the world’s leading brands in Capital Markets, Banking, Payments, Insurance, Media, Retail, Travel and Telecommunications.


As a Product Strategy Lead (Ventures), you will help our clients shape and test new
products, services and business models. You will have experience working across a variety
of industries being involved in either digital innovation or transformation projects. You will
understand what a great experience looks like and will work closely with the UX and UI
teams to help ensure the experiences that they design deliver on the promise they
communicate to customers. You will work with the wider team to develop their clients Venture capability and will contribute to winning new business through shaping engagements and selling our clients capabilities in this space. You will be expected to grow and manage other members of the Ventures team in both a formal and informal capacity.
Main responsibilities:
  • Meet with clients to understand the business challenge and their customers’ needs
  • Design and run cross-discipline ideation sessions to identify opportunities and develop innovative solutions
  • Work with clients to develop value propositions that articulate how new products and services could deliver value to the business and the end-user
  • Work with the client and wider team to agree on success metrics
  • Support the client in articulating how the venture could meet business goals and deliver on the KPIs important to the business
  • Develop the hypotheses that underpin a venture, highlighting the proof points needed to support the development of testing plans
  • Work alongside the UX team to ensure experiences meet the expectations of the client and deliver on the promise to the customer
  • Work alongside enterprise architects to ensure experiences meet the technology requirements of the client
  • Work alongside engineering teams to deliver the product roadmap, validate assumptions and remove uncertainty
  • Ensure the assets created for the research team by UX are appropriate to delivering the insights needed to validate business hypotheses
  • Build relationships within the business to help support and develop new and existing clients, demonstrating the value the Venture proposition can bring to engagements
  • Manage and mentor other members of your team
  • Develop and present detailed analysis reports covering market dynamics, competition, value chain, go to market, revenue and pricing models, product & proposition benchmarks
Required skills and experience
  • You will have at least 4 years’ experience working in technology or digital - in-house or in an agency - delivering innovative or transformational work as either as a consultant or senior design practitioner
  • You aren’t expected to be a technologist, but you will be confident in front of clients when talking about technology with a demonstrable grasp of how software and software experiences are built
  • You will be a strong verbal, written and visual communicator and will be equally
comfortable communicating ideas with pictures as you are with well-crafted words
  • You will have an appreciation of user experience methodologies and practices, including user-centred design.
  • You will have demonstrable experience designing and facilitating co-creation sessions and collaborative workshops with stakeholders and users
  • You will be able to create feature roadmaps using your understanding of business priorities, dependencies and what will deliver value to the end-user
  • You will have strong analytical skills with the ability to translate research and data into meaningful and creative insight
  • You will have a solid grasp of business commercials and use this experience to shape proposals
  • You will understand business and how businesses create value for their customers and shareholders
  • You will be a self-starter who can take a client brief and turn it into a proposal with the minimum of support
  • You will have proven management skills - setting objectives and general day-to-day support
  • You will have experience crafting business models using the business model canvas (or similar)
  • You will have experience developing customer models and value propositions
Essential qualities:

  • Excellent client relationship skills: You must be able to create rapport and relationships across a range of clients and functions
  • Excellent communication skills: You must be fully confident taking on a client-facing role with the necessary skills required to work with clients, suppliers and colleagues
  • Passion and creative thinking: We pride ourselves on the quality of our deliverables, from an email to a client presentation. Achieving this, especially when under pressure, is a critical success factor for the role.
