Data Analytics Lead – Start-up Payments Company
Location: New York (Hybrid)
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: Competitive, with Equity Options
The Company
We’re working with a fast-growing, venture-backed payments startup that’s redefining how small businesses send, receive, and manage money across borders. With a mission to make payments faster, fairer, and radically simpler, they’re already processing millions in transactions monthly — and they’re just getting started.
Based in New York with a global outlook, this company is on a rocketship trajectory and is looking for the kind of people who thrive in high-growth, high-impact environments.Â
The Role
As Data Analytics Lead, you’ll be the company’s go-to for turning raw data into actionable insights. You’ll work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Growth, and Executive teams to uncover trends, guide decisions, and define metrics that really move the needle.
This is a greenfield opportunity — you’ll shape the data culture from the ground up and set the standard for how data is used across the business.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Build and own the analytics function end-to-end: from tracking strategy to dashboards to deep dives.
- Partner with leadership to define KPIs and translate business questions into data-driven answers.
- Design scalable data models and reporting systems that grow with the business.
- Work closely with engineers to ensure clean, trustworthy data pipelines.
- Enable teams with self-serve analytics while diving deep on high-impact problems yourself.
- Tell compelling stories with data that inspire action across the org.
- Champion a data-first mindset across the business.
What You’ll Bring
- 5+ years in a data analytics or data science role, ideally with early-stage startup experience.
- Expertise in SQL and experience with modern BI tools (Looker, Tableau, Metabase, etc.).
- Strong business acumen and the ability to work across departments and influence non-technical stakeholders.
- A passion for metrics and a sixth sense for when something doesn’t add up.
- Experience in the payments, fintech, or SaaS space is a big plus.
- Comfortable working in ambiguity and excited by the idea of building things from scratch.
Why Join?
This isn’t just another analytics role. You’ll have a front-row seat to the scaling journey of a product with real-world impact — and the chance to shape that story with your insights.
They offer:
- A culture of ownership and autonomy
- Flexible working arrangements
- Competitive salary and equity package
- A chance to lead, grow, and make a serious dent in an industry ripe for innovation
