The Role

We’re searching for a Data Scientist who’s comfortable rolling up their sleeves in a Series A environment—someone who thrives on ambiguity, loves solving tough problems, and knows how to build data products that scale.

In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with the Product, Engineering, and Risk teams to harness the power of data in optimizing payments, mitigating risks, and unlocking customer insights. From building machine learning models to developing scalable data pipelines, you’ll be central to ensuring this fintech continues to grow smarter and faster.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deploy predictive models for fraud detection, risk assessment, and customer analytics.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to transform business needs into data-driven solutions.
• Build scalable data pipelines and ensure data integrity across the organization.
• Perform deep-dive analyses on payment flows, customer behavior, and system performance.
• Communicate insights clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders alike.
• Stay on the pulse of emerging data technologies to keep the company at the forefront.

Skills & Experience:

• Hands-on experience in a Series A (or early-stage) startup environment—you understand how to navigate ambiguity and scale.
• Strong command of Python, SQL, and machine learning frameworks (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, etc.).
• Experience working with cloud data platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop).
• Proven ability in statistical modeling, data mining, and algorithm development.
• Bonus points for experience in fintech or payments—but adaptability and curiosity matter most.
• A proactive mindset with excellent communication skills—you know how to translate data into action.

First 90 Days:

• Immerse yourself in the company’s data infrastructure and key payment systems.
• Deliver actionable insights on customer behavior and payment performance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize high-impact data initiatives.
• Begin development of fraud detection and risk models that scale with growth.
