The Digital Recruitment Company is working with an advisory that help media and information entrepreneurs to scale up and create value in their businesses.
Their team of experienced media leaders delivers high quality advice and support through structured multi-year programmes focusing on strategy, planning, product development, sales, marketing, customer success and finance.
  • They are media and information specialists, with experience in subscriptions memberships, marketing services, publishing and events - both b2b and b2c.
  • They are dedicated to entrepreneurs, never acting for corporates or private equity firms
  • They are active supporters of the Founder community:
    • hosting a global Media Entrepreneur Meetup with over 500 members
    • serving Insights, delivered through roundtables, webinars and articles year-round
They’re a high growth company (doubling revenues each year) and require an experienced Senior Adviser to take the lead on their scaleup programmes  with their growing client base
 
The Role:
 
The consists of both ‘always on strategic advice supported by the right mix of scaleup programmes, the majority focused around strategic planning.
 
The Senior Adviser - Scaleup programmes, is responsible for the delivery of their strategic planning programmes including focus on overall business strategy and 3-5 year planning, value proposition design, product development, sales and marketing, pricing, and operational excellence.
 
The senior adviser leads the planning process through leading and facilitating a series of workshops, using methodology and IP to  help build consensus and focus around data led decision making.
 
This role presents an exciting opportunity to shape the future fortunes of entrepreneurs, using skills and experience to help clients scale faster and create long term value.
 
Experience
  • You will have held departmental leadership positions, managing teams and/or divisions across functional disciplines
  • Deep knowledge of one or more of; events, marketing services, memberships, or subscription-based business models or
  • 5+ years’ experience in advisory / consulting in media
Key Responsibilities:
 
1. Client Delivery
  • Strategic planning
  • Expert facilitation
  • Balancing templated delivery with targeted advice
  • Challenging assumptions, using benchmarks embedding data led decision making
  • Getting alignment with, and elevating, the Senior Management Team
 
2. Leadership and Collaboration
 
For each client, you will be responsible for ensuring the programmes align with the client’s value creation journey. Your role is to:
  • Collaborate with other advisers (internal and external) to ensure all programmes are delivered on target and maximise value creation for the client
  • Attend regular programme meetings to ensure all advice is aligned
  • Provide clear briefs and regular updates to the wider delivery team
 
3. Thought leadership
 
  • Consistently build knowledge about matters relevant to scaling a business in the media industry
  • Take an active role in the entrepreneurial community, contributing to discussions in the Media entrepreneur Meetup up other relevant networks
 
4. IP Development
  • Input into and continuously improve IP and programme delivery

Strategy and Planning
  • Understanding of requirements for Board papers and strategy documents
  • Ability to brief on, develop, edit and critique strategic plans
  • Detailed timeline and action planning
 
Budgeting, Forecasting and KPI Reporting
  • Ability to set up assumptions and adapt budgeting and forecasting templates
  • Rational, tested approach to forecasting
  • Ability to help clients set up relevant KPI Reports and identify North Star measurements

  • Will need to consistently use and populate project management system
