The Role:To manage and execute an effective multi-channel marketing activity plan across a range of lead generation, brand, and key account campaigns to create measurable demand for our clients’ propositions in North America. Ensure planning and execution is to a high standard, within budget and to deadlines.
Main Duties:Responsible for defining and delivering marketing initiatives that generate new sales pipeline and expand on existing opportunities within target accounts in North America. Working closely with their Sales teams in the US and Canada, this position play a key role in growing their account-based experience (ABX) function, providing performance and best practice insight to optimise activity and maximise return on campaign investment.Campaign Management and Implementation:- Collaborate with regional sales teams on campaign plans to drive measurable demand for our client propositions in your markets. Ensure annual marketing plan is up-to-date and visible to key stakeholders.
- Execute campaign activity across multiple channels using all available marketing tools and technology at your disposal (CRM, CMS, virtual event software, automation and sales enablement platforms).
- Identify the most valuable and effective channels and content formats for your markets. Focus on demand generation and deal acceleration within our most strategic accounts, including 1:1 and 1: few initiatives to help achieve sales revenue goals in the North American market.
- Develop custom content where required or guide Sales to relevant self-serve collateral and templates. Adhere to brand guidelines, content house style and tone of voice at all times.
Relationship and Stakeholder Management:- Be a partner to the Sales team. Participate in regular calls and catch ups to ensure alignment, including weekly operational stand-ups, monthly campaign reviews and H1/H2 planning sessions. Accommodate time zones and travel 1-2 times a year for in-person meetings/events if required.
- Share best practice insight with Sales, Engagement and Customer Support teams to ensure their data research projects comply with local laws around the acquisition and use of contact data for commercial purposes.
- Working closely with colleagues in Sales, Engagement and Events, plan and execute small scale proprietary events for targeted accounts, and co-ordinate promotion and follow up at regional tradeshows, conferences and webinars.
Reporting and Analytics:- Monitor campaign performance and effectiveness. Provide activity reporting and insight. Align Marketing objectives to Sales key performance indicators (KPIs) in your markets.
- Develop deep knowledge of the local markets, emerging opportunities, competitive threats, customer base and sector trends that matter most in the US and Canada.
- Be an advocate for the sales regions you support and help the wider marketing team understand their priorities. Share feedback on trends, topics and messaging with marketing peers for the successful execution of future global initiatives.
Team Building and Leadership:- Support the training of new staff members and ensure that knowledge is shared across the team. Champion marketing best practice and lead a consistent application of systems and processes.
- Play an active role in building marketing’s profile within the business by identifying and fulfilling opportunities to showcase our achievements and expertise.
- Work with Marketing Managers across the function on initiatives, programmes, and projects that have a business level impact and contribute to achieving the overall objectives of the department.

Skills & Experience:- Proven track record with account-based marketing initiatives, targeted vertical campaigns, or demonstrable success impacting pipeline growth.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally, with experience of working closely with a sales organisation.
- Excellent communication skills including the ability to develop, and repurpose, written sales and marketing copy.
- Ability to work in an agile marketing function, often working with different teams, propositions and sectors.
- Strong project management skills. Able to manage multiple campaigns and prioritise workload effectively.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Highly creative with an eye for design. Knowledge of software (e.g. Canva, InDesign) would be an advantage
- Understanding of how to use technology for delivering inbound and outbound strategies. Some technical ability and experience of automation tools and lead nurture programmes is desirable.
- Knowledge of sales enablement platforms would be beneficial.
- Previous experience in an academic publishing or library software environment is desirable.
