The Role
The Contract Manager is the initial point person for all 3rd Party Vendor Contract requests. Responsible for overseeing the creation, negotiation, execution, and management of contracts across the organization. This role ensures that all contracts are compliant with legal requirements, organizational policies, and industry regulations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, possesses strong negotiation skills, and has a deep understanding of contract law and procurement processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate various types of vendor contracts, including MSA, SOW, amendments, addendums, MOU agreements, NDAs and more.
- Maintain a centralized repository for all contracts and ensure timely renewals and compliance with contract terms.
- Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., Legal, Finance, Procurement, P2P) to understand requirements and risks.
- Ensure contracts comply with applicable laws, company policies, and industry best practices.
- Monitor contract performance and address issues or disputes as they arise.
- Serve as a point of contact for contractual matters and provide guidance on contract obligations.
- Develop and implement contract management tools, templates, policies, and procedures.
- Conduct risk assessments related to contractual obligations.
- Report on contract status, KPIs, and risk factors to senior management.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Finance, or a related field (JD or legal background is a plus).
- 3+ years of experience in contract management, legal, procurement, or a related role.
- Strong knowledge of contract law, negotiation techniques, and compliance standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with contract management software (CLX, Netsuite – preferable) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification such as Certified Commercial Contracts Manager (CCCM) or Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM).
- Experience in education/ financial services
- Working knowledge of ERP or legal management systems (e.g., DocuSign CLM).
