The Digital Recruitment Company are working with a sustainability-led investment management firm, that sets its investment strategies in the context of the long-term trends shaping society and the planet, this is an ambitious and dynamic group that is evolving brand and storytelling narrative, pushing its marketing platforms and finding innovative new ways to reach investors of all kinds, around the world.

The Division
The marketing is a centralised, global function of the business based in London with responsibility for the development and promotion of the group, along with its range of funds, trusts and investment products across three business divisions. The central team is led by the global Marketing Director who reports into the Executive Committee and currently consists of seven people with additional local marketing coordination in Australia, Madrid and Rome.  Various external agencies work with the team on corporate communications, PR, web and digital design, and video production.

This is an exciting time to join the marketing team.  As the digital investor landscape rapidly changes, and more investment research and decisions are made online, brand and its investment products must become more easily accessible for today’s audiences, both human and artificial.

The Role
This is a new and unique opportunity to join the company and develop a capability within the business that does not comprehensively exist today.  As a Senior Marketing Manager, you will take the lead in developing successful, long-term digital and direct investment product marketing strategies that drive demand for a range of investment opportunities from Capital Management, They have three Investment Trusts and their range of retail investment products. You should have a strong grasp of current marketing tools and strategies and be able to lead integrated digital marketing campaigns from concept to execution and bring experience of planning and executing offline marketing tactics including press releases and events.
 
Working directly with the Head of Marketing and in collaboration with their Retail Sales and Retail Investor Relations teams, you will be responsible for driving change across  digital platforms and generating new retail investor leads.  As a senior member of the marketing team, you will manage 2-3 direct reports and various agency relationships, demonstrating clear ability to understand, engage with and manage multi-faceted teams at a high level to ensure delivery of growth objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Establish and lead digital marketing excellence by demonstrating strategic knowledge and executional competence across a range of business groups
  • Build relationships with commercial and investment management teams across globally and advocate for digital marketing as a strategic driver of business growth
  • Build and share group knowledge of retail and institutional investor audiences’ digital preferences and behaviours
  • Study the growth of the direct (‘consumer’) investor sector creating plans and pilots then activating campaigns for how to attract them through new and traditional media activities
  • Identify trends and insights and stay up to date with digital technology developments, testing new tools and technologies to engage direct and intermediary/advisory audiences online
  • Test and optimise strategy and spend contributing to business growth, including: SEO/SEM, leveraging first party data, marketing automation, social media and display/video advertising campaigns.
  • Oversee the measurement and reporting on performance of all digital marketing campaigns and assessing these against lead-gen goals (ROI and KPIs)
  • Work with the wider marketing, sales and investor relations teams on strategic planning and the integrations of communications channels with their CRMand nascent investor ‘portal’ platform required to build out a great end-to-end customer experience along the full customer lifecycle.
  • Work with governance and compliance teams to ensure rigorous evaluation of materials to ensure standards are met and enforced across the team 
  • Manage external agency / supplier support to the marketing team 
  • Evolve their digital investor relationship platforms (website, portal, social platforms) to maximise investment opportunity into products, optimising engagement and lead generation, improving the customer journey based on data/analytics. Advise on functionality updates within the CMS (Umbraco) – text, documents etc
  •  
  • Competencies:
  • Experience in developing and executing cross-channel strategic marketing plans for B2B audiences (knowledge of investor audiences not essential but preferred)
  • Experience with marketing automation technology, performance media for lead generation, digital advertising, platform optimisation, reporting and analytics, SEO and copywriting 
  • Ability to collaborate across business divisions on transformative strategy to increase investor reach and engagement online 
  • Managerial capabilities to nurture a small but growing team
  • A results and action orientated approach; ability to drive projects through to completion delivering clearly defined results or impact
  • Excellent organisation skills and ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure
  • Understanding of asset management, UK intermediary market and retail fund structures such as OIECs, ETFs and Investment Trusts not essential, but preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communications to Board level audiences
  • Prior experience managing digital advertising budget
  • Self-starter, motivated to learn and comfortable with identifying and executing on new areas of opportunity
  • Experience juggling multiple projectsand deadlines simultaneously 

Qualifications and Experience Required:
  • At least 8 years’ experience in planning and executing product marketing strategy with a focus on performance media to drive demand and convert leads (media agency experience strongly preferred)
  • Firm knowledge of competitive investment product market and retail/institutional audience segments (experience in infrastructure and renewables ideal)
  • Experience in building engagement across investor platforms and apps
  • Experience and established relationships with online investor marketplaces, forums, events
  • Experience in designing and executing investor events i.e. for product launches and investor days
  • Strong credentials in financial PR and experience of working with Investor Relations
  • Experience in strategically defining and building creative assets for content distribution (i.e. video, display)
  • Experience in the design and production of investor literature in digital and print formats
  • Educated to degree level (desirable but not essential)
  • CIM or other qualifications (desirable but not essential)
  • Strong Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel skills
