The Organisation/Role:
Our client is a niche firm specialising in the more complex aspects of personal injury and human rights law. Committed to achieving access to justice for all including full, fair compensation by providing first-rate legal advice.They have some of the country's leading legal teams who are driven by their ethos of “Davids” fighting the “Goliaths” around the world. They are known to passionately pursue difficult or unpopular cases that push the boundaries of the law and which may be of little interest to other firms and to champion the rights of the injured, marginalised and disenfranchised.
Role:
They are seeking an Internal Communications and Employer Brand Manager with the confidence and expertise required to win the support of internal stakeholders and build relationships across the business.
The role is twofold – to manage the firm’s internal communications and to support the development of the firm’s Employer Brand.
Main duties and responsibilities
Internal Communications:- Work with the Head of Communications and Director of Marketing and BD to develop their internal communications strategy and deliver comms and campaigns which are engaging and impactful.
- Take a lead role in the day-to-day management of internal channels and look for ways to innovate in the way that we communicate with our audience.
- Help to improve employee engagement through tactical and blended use of channels, media and messaging.
- Build relationships, drive and source content from teams across the firm, demonstrating our strategy in action and emphasising key messages.
- Help to ‘join the dots’ between different business areas and ensure that internal comms messaging is executed in a timely and coordinated manner.
- Craft excellent copy and deliver clear, pragmatic comms plans.
- Be proactive and responsive to business needs, and flexible in adapting to change.
- Operate as an integral member of the Marketing team, be responsible for influencing the wider marketing team and stakeholders on best practice communication approaches and tactics.
- Devising creative and engaging internal campaigns to support key projects led by practice group leadership and business services leads;
- Managing the production of internal newsletters which includes copywriting, editing, proof reading and working with external design agencies;
- Playing a key role in developing core channels including the firm's intranet;
- Working in conjunction with communications and marketing colleagues to deliver holistic campaigns
- Work with committees and other internal stakeholders in the design and implementation of firmwide events.
- Support the marketing team in promoting themselves as a team, developing regular news and reports that are interesting and relevant to internal stakeholders.
- Employer Brand:
- Working with HR to drive new talent attraction and engagement marketing programme across the firm.
- Positioning their people value proposition in a unique and compelling way to attract the best talent for our business across all hiring categories
- Creating stand-out, high-impact recruitment campaigns and go-to-market plans for priority hiring and employer brand projects.
- Contribute to the design and creation of market-leading candidate experiences and engagement and ownership of how they reach, engage and convert talent through our hiring experience
- Bringing to life their unique people value proposition through carefully crafted recruitment campaigns and recruitment marketing content.
- Utilising programmatic digital and social media channels through their annual and ongoing recruitment activity.
- Project management of the full cycle of our recruitment marketing campaigns from conception through to campaign metric presentation to improve the understanding of the recruitment team and their internal stakeholders as to potential opportunities and effectiveness of tools available.
- Track and optimise ROI of our allocated recruitment marketing budget
- Partner with Marketing and Recruitment colleagues to bring to life the firm’s culture, value proposition and opportunities across the different channels
- Proactively support the recruitment function to understand the requirements for skills, volumes and locations and to define the best approach for tailored recruitment marketing content to engage with different target audiences.
- Working in partnership with the HR team to develop and deliver communications and engagement priorities to support our D&I goals, with the aim of attracting and engaging diverse talent
- Manage the performance of specialist external suppliers ensuring they deliver against defined service standards and within our brand guidelines
- Stay up to date with the latest trends and innovations to ensure the firm remains competitive and forward- thinking in the recruitment marketplace
Skills & Experience:
Essential:- At least three years’ experience in a similar role
- Experience in a supervisory role
- Excellent copywriting skills and experience of writing for a range of audiences and channels
- Demonstrable experience of stakeholder management and building strong internal relationships at a range of levels including senior management
- As the role will aim to improve communication and engagement across our regional offices an ability to travel to these offices is required
- Creating communications plans that take into account a range of audiences and are aligned with external communication plans where necessary
- Experience of working in in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines and the need to manage expectations and demands from a number of different teams
- Experience in communicating difficult messages and sensitive topics
- An understanding of the role of brand in the attraction and retention of staff
