Digital Careers, part of the Digital Recruitment Company is currently working witha USA grown restaurant chain who have become an international success, and one of the premier quick service restaurant brands of all time. In America they serve more than 36 million customers every week!
Their market consists of the UK, Cyprus, Netherlands, Romania, Finland and Iceland and their objective is to grow from 84 restaurants today to 130+ restaurants by end 2021. Ensuring that they build a sustainable economic model is a key component and marketing in the UK will play a key role in doing that.
The Key Role Functions:
They are looking for a commercially minded digital rock star with a restless drive to grow customer sales across their digital channels. In this exciting and unique role, you will leverage their digital channels (including their home delivery channels, app, click & collect, website & restaurant kiosks) to create strategies to drive higher customer acquisition and profitable sales conversion.
They are seeking the right person, a broad leader with a growth mindset to pave the future of eCommerce journey. You will report directly to their UK Head of Marketing who will be there to champion and coach you to success. You will have 1 direct report, a Digital Project Manager to help you execute and implement initiatives across channels. They are a tight band there to make an impact, They operate a fairly flat structure and you will have visibility and access to everyone from their General Manager all the way through to their global International Leaders who will be on hand to support and champion your work and career growth.
Responsibilities:- Own and drive the eCommerce vision, sales strategy and roadmap focussing on big wins. Ensure that all activity undertakes a customer-first, commercial insights driven approach to drive team and company goals;
- Monetise Owned Digital Channels: They have a large customer database and in 2021 They invested heavily in building a new marketing/tech stack to grow their Customer Relationship Marketing capability. They have been charged with piloting this initiative for all global markets. This represents a super exciting opportunity to make your mark from the outset and have an impact at a local and global scale. You’ll be focussed on:
- Drive frequency;
- Grow average order value of every visit;
o Partnering with their media agency & their restaurant teams you will develop efficient acquisition campaigns to scale their customer for even greater business impact;
o Build strong relationships with their franchisee owners and CRM vendor partners;- Drive delivery sales growth over night and profitability over time. Delivery is a priority eCommerce sales channel for with significant contribution to their overall sales mix. In this role you will:
o Develop initiatives to drive higher average order values for every customer visit;
o Partner with restaurant operations to improve customer experience and drive higher app ratings to convert even higher sales per restaurant;
o Collaborate with commercial team & franchise partners to improve profitability of channel over time.- Over the medium to long-term you will partner with tech team and their global stakeholders to test and launch own delivery service through the app.
- You will also coach your digital project manager to conduct a review across all digital platforms (including their home delivery channels, app, click & collect, website & restaurant kiosks):
o Set up dashboards and agree KPI’s to measure performance & improvement across channels;- Collaborate with Marketing Leadership to bring Marketing strategy and briefs to life through new digital initiatives.
Is This You?
- 4+ years’ experience in a commercially focused ecommerce role, with a good understanding of digital technologies
- You are passionate about the consumer experience on digital platforms
- Proven experience in multi-channel marketing, SMS, push, digital advertising and email
- Data driven
- Big picture thinker with ability to turn strategy into action
- Flexible and eager to drive change
- Collaborative. A team player who is accountable and flexible
- Thrives in fast-paced environment
- Experience managing brands or projects, creating marketing/agency briefs, and developing sell-in decks
- Experience working with analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics) to extract the necessary data needed to make key decisions
- Consulting or strategy experience building business cases and creating proposals
- Restaurant or retail experience with an understanding of operational complexity
- Reputation for building strong partnerships across cross-functional and outside teams, and having solid negotiation skills
