The Organisation:
We are working with an award-winning digital health company that has launched the worlds first AI supported Skin Cancer pathway. They work closely with hospital trusts, GP practices and health insurers Vitality and Bupa.Their platforms help patients access services quicker and save clinicians time in diagnosing and treating skin cancer. Their AI can cut these hospital waiting lists up to 40%. They implement AI in healthcare and now save lives through early diagnosis.
The Role:
They are looking for a product designer to help them ensure that their revolutionary technology is simple, safe and easy to use for their growing range of customers (patients, clinicians and others).
Working within a cross-functional agile team of Product, Engineering, AI, Medical and Customer Success colleagues, you can solve the complex problems that emerge when building a skin cancer
diagnostic service.
You’ll be the voice of the user, and experience with user research is a big plus. You will cover both web and mobile apps. This is an important area for the business, so you have to be a good communicator and comfortable playing back your work to a wide range of stakeholders.
Responsibilities:- Lead the design of product experiences and features;
- Facilitate cross-discipline sessions as part of product definition - applying lean UX approaches, design sprint and/or prototyping methods to support product development and sales demonstrations;
- Ensure product features are designed from the start with users and safety in mind, considering exception and normal flows, to minimise rework;
- Create user journey and service maps illustrating user needs, pain points, and business opportunities as they evolve our products;
- Design product solutions which are data informed, making good use of user feedback (they have lots already and you’ll help them gather more) and using a variety of design techniques and artefacts of varying fidelities; and
- Establish and maintain design guidelines and patterns for consistent, safe and effective design implementation across their products.
Key Skills and experience:- Depth and/or breadth of expertise across the UX and product design spectrum. A balance of creative digital design skills and usability/human factors would be ideal.
- A keen eye for detail, but ability to rapidly solve problems using everything from a basic sketch to high fidelity prototypes;
- Experience facilitating workshops and leading meetings (e.g. design sessions, user testing sessions);
- Proven ability to collaborate successfully with cross-functional peers and teams (Clinical, AI, Engineering, Product) to develop concepts and products; and
- Proven ability to prioritise and balance between short-term and longer-term improvements.
- Other requirements:
- As this is a creative role, please submit your portfolio or a link to your portfolio with your application. Applications without a portfolio are unlikely to be considered.
- Experience working in Healthcare is highly desirable but not essential.
