The Role

The primary focus of this role is to manage one of the most important member communication channels by continually striving to improve the user experience and ensuring the content is well presented. Success will be measured by increasing member engagement and satisfaction with the site.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. To be the member champion for the web channel and ensure that offers the best possible user experience
  2. To manage the development and performance of the website and its integration with other systems, especially the customer relationship management system
  3. To work closely with colleagues to deliver a high conversion of prospects to members
  4. To lead the relationship with the web agency and ensure they deliver effectively and to budget
  5. Track and measure key metrics and produce regular analysis of data to ensure the user experience is continually optimised

 

JOB CONTENT

  1. To be the member champion for the web channel and ensure that offers best possible user experience
    (Running the Business well, Creating the organisation fit for the future)

    1. Master the website user journey(s) and implement necessary changes to improve user experience and engagement
    2. Determine and implement critical path to success for membership i.e. join, renew or upgrade
    3. Develop and implement website optimisation plans in close co-ordination with the Digital Marketing Manager and the Digital agency
    4. Always keep target audience in mind while designing different aspects of the website including navigation, flow of info, visuals, text etc.
    5. Maintain brand consistency across the website by working in close co-ordination with the Marketing Communications Manager

 

  1. To manage the development and performance of website and the integration with other systems, especially the customer relationship management system
    1. Work with the Head of Marketing on the website refresh project. Deliver on the Website Plan within agreed time-frame and budget
    2. Ensure seamless integration between the website and CRM by developing member journey proposals and agreeing these with the organisation and Website development agency
    3. Ensure that the they are compliant with relevant regulations on the website(s) and other digital assets
    4. Manage website development agency and be the key point of contact for them. Relaying issues, keeping them on target and working with them to create a functional website
    5. Be the main point of contact for all internal and external (members, suppliers etc.) website enquiries
    6. Work with colleagues in IT and other departments to develop and manage a process of updating the website in a timely manner
    7. Meet day to day website change requirements of internal staff members e.g. content edit, uploading pdfs, creating new pages etc.

 

  1. To work closely with colleagues to deliver a high conversion of prospects to members
    (Increase member engagement, Increase membership)

    1. Work closely with Marketing Communications Manager to support the delivery of membership recruitment and retention campaigns
    2. Build cross functional relationships based on mutual and clear understanding, plus timely and transparent processes, particularly with IT to ensure there is appropriate technical input and support
    3. Support Digital Marketing Manager in the delivery of SEO, PPC, email and social campaigns based upon agreed objectives, budgets and timescales, with regular review and reporting of performance
    4. Liaise with different colleagues, as necessary, to support the launch of new products and services and improve the usage of existing products/services

 

  1. To lead the relationship with the website agency and ensure they deliver effectively and to budget
    1. Manage relationships with appropriate agencies, review agency performance on an annual and ongoing basis, and if necessary, making recommendations on changes
    2. Manage sign-off process and keep Head of Marketing informed of the progress.
    3. Keep abreast of market developments through reviewing market intelligence, attendance at appropriate events and networking

 

  1. Track and measure key metrics and conduct regular analysis of data to ensure the user experience is continually optimised

  1. Ensure that a full analytics data-driven programme is in place to provide comprehensive ongoing and ad hoc reporting to Head of Marketing and any other relevant stakeholders on performance and user journeys
  2. Ensure that the tools and processes are in place to review customer feedback, disseminate it through the organisation and ensure timely and appropriate response
  3. Keep internal stakeholders informed on the planned activities through monthly updates
  4. Establish a regular review of the website based upon analytics data and qualitative feedback. Deliver improvements to the site based on identified needs

 

KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience of both the development and the ongoing management of websites with both informational and transactional content
  • Working knowledge of Drupal CMS. Should be able to create pages, edit content etc.
  • Experience of all aspects of optimising customer journeys.
  • Excellent analytics experience including Google Analytics.
  • Strong team player and good interpersonal skills.
  • Combination of technical competence with commercial understanding.
  • Good interpersonal and management skills.
