The Company:

My client is a multi-million-pound turnover over agency with over 500 staff globally setting up a brand-new office in London. They are a full 360 agency with a focus in retail and branding providing concept-to-consumer creative, strategy and print production solutions for iconic, global consumer brands.


The Role

As Planning Director you will be part of the Insight, Planning & Strategy team working across a variety of clients and markets and straddling all channels. The primary focus will be to help an

FMCG brand across multiple categories as they expand globally. 70% your time will be on this

amazing new account and 30% on a global beer company. This role reports into the European

Director of Strategy.


The mission of the Insight, Planning & Strategy team is to find smart, innovative answers to clients’

tough problems and to make the creative output of the agency the best it can be in order to deliver

sustained business success for our clients’ brands. Projects range from brand-led strategic

positioning, opening up new occasions, shopper and creative insights as well as working on new

business opportunities.


Experience and skills:

You will already be a first class planner with bags of experience and you will have kept your

passion for the industry. You will know the importance of working collaboratively to solve problems

as much as you know how to guide creative teams. You know how to use strategy to build

relationships with clients and shape the agenda of the briefs you get.


Your ideal experience will come from retail, e-commerce and shopper background but also have an

understanding of brand strategy, portfolio management and value engineering. You will have

strong FMCG experience and have worked in multiple markets. You will understand the difference

between the shopper and consumer and be used to mapping paths to purchase.


You are a natural storyteller able to unearth and bring to life pivotal insights that inspire new

thinking. You are a born self-starter able to bring proactive thinking internally as well as to clients

and in turn recognise how to create commercial value to clients as well as the agency.

You can demonstrate you are:


  • Curious about the world, consumers, brands, retailers and how it all fits together
  • Able to get on your hind legs and tell a story about a plan, an insight, a strategy, some creative
  • Passionate about making work better. You enjoy working hand-in hand with creatives to craft Ideas
  • Lead on large scale strategy, defining scopes and setting clear deliverables, including plans
  • We are essentially a one year old start up – you know how roll up your sleeves
  • Able to nurture the agency culture and inspire problem solving and creative thinking
  • Comfortable with data
