The Organisation:

Digital Careers, part of the Digital Recruitment Company is currently working with a global financial organisation who are specialist in the loans market. They were voted 15th fastest growing company in 2016 and ranked 22nd in the Sunday Times Fast Track 100. Since being founded in 2007 they have grown to a business with 3 divisions worth £1B.

The Role:

The Business’ Marketing programmes across its broking brand and lending brand, include digital, social, media partnerships and advertising, PR and event-related activities. Generation of content for these includes online & offline written & designed content. This is externally-created by agency partners as well as internally-created. Our fully-integrated, multi-disciplinary approach, with some in-house content needs a highly-adaptable marketing generalist role. This is to help coordinate the programme of activities, manage agency partners, and create written and designed in-house content.

Measures of success:

  • Activity planning: key deadlines met, stakeholders aligned, assets delivered
  • Content delivery: equivalent of 2 blog posts & 1 infographic a month, 2 regular reports / newsletters a month, 1 ebook a quarter, 1 email a week created
  • PR & creative agency: working with agencies for successful delivery of individual projects to time and quality

 The responsibilities of the role:

  • Activity planning: maintaining a rolling calendar of marketing activity and content creation to help coordinate our 3 major marketing programmes
  • PR: support day-to-day agency management, including providing or reviewing copy and ensuring individual activities are on track
  • PR: support Marketing Director to own direct relationships with key journalists or publications as needed
  • Media partnerships & advertising: support Marketing Director to manage media partners, ensure programme elements and assets are delivered on a timely basis, and brief ad creative development to creative agency as needed
  • Email & social media: support Digital Marketing Manager to write email copy for internally and 3rd party-delivered email, as well as social activity as needed
  • Copywriting: research and write regular blog posts, longer articles and ebooks, and other core copywriting
  • Design creative: deliver basic digital design using Adobe Creative Cloud suite, including adapting pre-developed template designs for recurring reports & newsletters, modifying pre-designed adverts, developing simple infographics, modifying pre-designed collateral, etc
  • Events: help Marketing ensure event success is maximised, including having right collateral, right stands, right speakers and correct follow-up

 Experience and skills:

  • Marketing: demonstrable capability to understand target customers and to develop marketing activity to engage those customers effectively
  • Copywriting and design: experience to writing and doing core digital design
  • Software expertise: Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly InDesign, Illustrator
  • Creative agency management: experience working with, briefing and managing creative agencies to deliver individual creative and small projects
  • PR: experience working with, briefing and managing PR agencies & journalists
  • Marketing qualification e.g. CIM, IDM diploma or equivalent
  • Degree at 2:1 or equivalent preferred
  • Passion for customers: desire to understand how to engage customers better
  • Inquisitiveness: constantly willing to learn and challenge the status quo
  • Adaptiveness: flexible and ready to develop new skills as needed
