The Organisation:

Digital Careers, part of the Digital Recruitment Company is currently working with a tech-based company whose SaaS is used to help salespeople close deals. They are a sales management business which is designed to help small sales teams manage processes. They work with some of the most well-known brands globally and have over 300 employees in 4 countries.

The Role:

My client is looking for an experienced B2B/SaaS designer and research specialist who will lead a design team who define how customers use the product. This person will be the head of UX Design and Research, reporting directly into the Chief Product Officer in London. The team spans across multiple countries in Europe and this position can choose to be based in London or Tallinn.

 

You will be responsible for:

  • Lead the UX Design and Research team to evolve the UX for the product
  • Own the end-to-end design process of the team, ensuring on time, detailed, and polished deliverables
  • Provide customer focused leadership by working closely with the business and technical teams to develop product strategy, use cases, and high-level requirements that ensure alignment across our professional brand
  • Develop and build relationships across teams and disciplines to promote collaboration and efficiency across various teams
  • Ensure our web and mobile UX support measurable business requirements and goals
  • Use market analyses and customer research findings to drive design decisions
  • Collaborate effectively with an agile, multi-disciplinary team to evaluate the feasibility of proposed designs and champion great UX in the face of technical constraints
  • Incorporate data-driven insights to guide UX strategy
  • Provide full hands-on design work as needed, iteratively creating interaction flows, wireframes, visual, interactive prototypes, and detailed design specifications
  • Present design work to UX, Product, and Engineering teams, as well as stakeholders and executive leadership and gain buy in on proposed approach
  • Hire, manage, mentor, and develop designers and researchers within and beyond your team

 

Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience as a UX designer, interaction designer, information architect, or similar
  • 5+ years as manager of small to medium size design teams
  • Demonstrate a portfolio of work with a proven track record for solving difficult UX design problems and simplifying difficult business process to intuitive interfaces for
  • customers
  • Experience closely collaborating with technical teams and ensuring designs work within their development libraries and frameworks
  • Experience working with an iteration based development process such as SCRUM
  • Experience creating services and applications with multiple user touchpoints on different platforms and devices
  • Experience as a leader of multi-disciplinary creative teams
  • Familiarity with technical aspects of UX across iOS, Android, and other mobile platforms
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills including the ability to present design concepts clearly and persuasively to colleagues, partners, stakeholders and especially to senior executives
  • Ability to work efficiently and demonstrate a bias for action in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment
  • Relentless desire for innovation, balanced with business needs and customer expectations
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in design
